WHO WE ARE
Yaye Dib Dance is a community of artists dedicated to promoting African arts and culture, through education, professional practice, development and creative collaborations.
Yaye means 'mother' in the Senegalese language, Wolof, and was the inspiration for the name, taken from the dance company Yaye Dib Dance (formerly Yaye Dib Sabar) established in 2010 by Artistic Director, Diene Sagna, named in memory of his mother, Yaye Dib.

YAYE DIB DANCE COMPANY
Yaye Dib Dance are a professional dance company based in the UK, Germany and Senegal, founded by Artistic Director, Diene Sagna in 2010.
The company's style is influenced by West African traditional and modern dance with contemporary influences, telling stories through movement and music.
Yaye Dib Dance perform and deliver dance and music workshops globally.
JUMPforJOY AFRICA is an annual dance festival, bringing together world-class artists to deliver workshops in a variety of styles with live music, performances and arts and crafts for sale.
The festival was founded in London, UK in 2011 in memory of yaye Dib, mother of Artistic Director, Diene Sagna, who was a professional dancer and sadly passed away in 2009.
This year it will be held in Senegal 10 years anniversary 28th December 2022 until 28th January 2023.

Aksilen, meaning 'Welcome' in the Senegalese language, Wolof, is a cultural training holiday to Senegal with Diene 'Waaw Waaw' Sagna and Yaye Dib Dance company, based in Dakar.
Now in its 10th year, Aksilen offers students an intensive 4 weeks of learning and living the life of an artist.
The next Aksilen will be held between Wednesday 28 December 2022 until Saturday 28 January 2023 with the following teachers confirmed: Diene 'Waaw Waaw' Sagna; Pape Demba Sene; Helene Afia Sagna; Awa Sow; Lampe Sene; Aboubacar Sagna Niang.

YAYE DIB TV
YAYE DIB TV is an audiovisual production that collaborates with artists to produce and deliver performing arts, new media art, film, photography and interactive arts.
Still in its infancy, we seek to find creative ways to reach a new audience, interact and showcase a new image of Africa through arts, culture and media.
